Governor of New York thinks parents are irresponsible

Gov. Eliot Spitzer thinks that New York parents are so irresponsible that they can’t decide what their children do and do not see. Proposed legislation would make it a felony to sell minors "mature" rated video games. Punishment could be up to four years in jail.

Three questions, please comment your answer below.

What is this provision going to do? How does this help people? Are New Yorkers poorer parents than the rest of the country?

Ron Paul on Neil Cavuto Show 6-26-07

This is a great video. Ron does the best at the end when he defends Gandhi and Martin Luther King. Neil Cavuto comes out as an uneducated fool though. Imagine if Neil was interviewing Martin Luther King.

Cavuto: Do you advocate breaking the law and going into white coffee shops.

King: Yes I advocate peacefully going into white coffee shops.

Cavuto: But if everyone could go into white coffee shops, then there wouldn't be any white coffee shops.

King: Then the people would have a government that represents them better.

Cavuto: But ... but ...

Take note: Full frontal assault on free speech

As if it weren't bad enough that Newt Gingrich once came out against free speech. Now it's the Democrats' turn. Take note of the recent news accusing Trent Lott (R-MI), Barbara Boxer (D-CA), and Hillary Clinton (D-NY) of launching a all out attack on free speech.

Trent Lott has been quoted as saying "Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem." Excuse me sir, talk radio? Let's see:

Political power that talk radio has: NONE

Political power of Trent Lott: SOME

Let's see, could it be that people like you, Trent, that are running America. Could it be that you, Trent, are so intoxicated with power that you won't let the people that make this country great do their job without slapping them with laws and regulations. What are you afraid of Trent? People talking? What's next; are you going to speak out against the voters?

As if that weren't enough, it is claimed by James Inhofe (R-OK) that Hillary Clinton and Barbara Boxer were discussing a "legislative fix" for talk radio. She's running for president!! I know that I don't want Hillary to replace our "Decider." It sounds like she might just "decide" what we can and cannot listen to.

I really doubt that the American people are as dumb as these three legislative clowns must think we are. Are we really so dumb that we are not able to decide what we do and do not listen to? Or perhaps it's something different? Could it be that Congress has a 27% approval rating, people are not happy, and they're ... talking. I don't know, just a thought.

Well since freedom of speech is under attack. Let me take some time to introduce you to my favorite talk radio show. I want to speak now before there's a law that says that I can't.

Why do Americans work two jobs when they used to work one?

I was reading Dan on liberty, a blog I like. It's takes a stance a little different form me but on one issue we agree, currency. The currency we use is not working for us. I'm glad that this issue was brought up.

There is only one presidential candidate that even discusses this important issue. You guessed it, Ron Paul.

The currency we use does take away from what your work could earn for you. In the very old days there was the check of gold to make sure that paper money had worth. There is a need to change this, and soon.

Don't forget liberty

Liberty: A moral assertion that insists that if you are not harming another person or person's property, then any harm done to you is immoral. It is important to remember that this principal is on an individual level and does not extend to groups.

Let us not forget that liberty is a moral assertion and is worth defending.

Ron Paul: Media Black Out

Just in case you didn't see the debate. If you watch the mainstream press, sometimes they do not speak of him. I was surprised that this morning on NPR he was not included in the news. Tommy Thompson was included but not Ron Paul. Is something strange here?

Could Ron Paul win Iowa?

A new OFF-line pole at polster.com places each of the Republican candidates as follows:

Gov. Mitt Romney (31%)
Sen. Fred Thompson (15%),
former Speaker Newt Gingrich (10%),
Sen. John McCain (9%)
Rudy Giuliani (8%)

Let's see 31+15+10+9+8 = 73. 73%!!! is that right, let's check. It's right. This means that 27% of likely Republican voters responded something else in this poll. Could it be that they will vote for Ron Paul. It would seem likely. Ron Paul provides a real alternative from politics as usual. Given Ron Paul's popularity with unlikely Republican voters, Ron Paul may just take Iowa.
